The information about this country.
Brazil is a country in South America. It is the largest country in the South America region and fifth-largest in the world with 3,287,956 square miles. It is also the sixth most populous country with more than 210 million. Brasilia is the capital and Sao Paulo is the largest city. Portuguese is the official language of Brazil. The unit of currency in Brazil is Brazilian Real.
The history of the Brazilian Real.
To stabilize the country's economy, Brazil introduced the modern Real on July 1, 1994. Fortunately, the Brazilian Real (BRL) gained many values during 1994-1995. However, after the Central Bank of Brazil, the currency begun to drop from 1:1 to 1.2:1 in value. The word Real also means “royal” in Portueges language.
The first real banknote series was founded in 1994 in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 50, and 100 reals. Later, in 2001, the 2 and 20 reals notes were added into this series. Likewise, the 1 real note was dismissed on Oct 31, 2005. These banknotes featured only the bust of the Republic’s Effigy on the front side. On the reverse side contained the artworks of animals such as hummingbird on the 1 real notes and turtle on the 2 reals notes.
In 2000, to commemorate the 500th anniversary since the Portuguese stepped on Brazil, the government introduced the 10 reals notes in polymer.
The second real banknote series was introduced on Feb 3, 2010. Additionally, the 200 reals notes were contributed into circulation on July 29, 2020. These banknotes contained the same concepts with the previous series. But more interesting things such as each note of this series have different sizes which would help lost-vision people recognize each denomination. Due to the increase number of counterfeiting, this series was added more security features.
