A lovely example of $10 Silver Certificate from the series of 1891. The note's center portrait is of Thomas A. Hendricks, who served as Vice-President during Grover Cleveland's administration. His death while in office, along with the oblong shape surrounding his portrait, has led to these notes being commonly referred to as "Tombstone Notes".
This note came from the Fr.301, a 1891 $10 Silver Certificate known as the "TOMBSTONE". It has been authenticated by PMG and graded VF 30 with minor repairs. Upon closer inspection, the exact location of the repair may be difficult to locate initially. Signatures of Lyons and Roberts are featured on this series as well as the red scalopped seal on the right.
This VF 30 example is priced at under $2000, making it an affordable option for collectors.
